Sibling Caretakers Research Study

An undergraduate student attending the University of Texas at Austin is conducting a research project regarding sibling caretakers of adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is seeking participants for the study and requested our assistance is sharing information about the study.

The study is investigating how sibling caretakers plan for this role and how this planning may impact their relationship satisfaction with their romantic partners. Participants are asked to complete a survey regarding their attitudes about future planning, their experience with caregiving burden and receiving social support, and their current relationship satisfaction with their partner.

The study has received approval from the appropriate ethics committee and is being conducted under the direction of a faculty member at UT.
