At age three, children may be eligible for early intervention services through special education preschool programs in public schools.

Children with disabilities are entitled to receive special education services, at no cost to the family, through the public school system beginning on the day of the child’s 3rd birthday and ending at the age of 22.

If a child meets eligibility guidelines, they are entitled to services – schools cannot say that their preschool program is “full.”
